I don't see this as an insult to the Prophet (SAW). Following the Prophet(SAW) is correct but "imitating" may or may not be correct. Afterall the Talibans claimed to do the same thing and all they did was to oppress women and kill fellow Muslims.

Some people think that their duty as a Muslim is "proved" by compelling their women look like walking tents or like that cab driver in Toronto who killed his daughter because she removed her hijaab.
