Is raising your hand on your spouse justified, if they cheated on you? Would you accept the proposal of someone who admitted of doing this to their ex wife, but who otherwise seems perfect?

Before answering let me clarify if I got it right. So the wife cheated on the guy and he beat her up?I wouldn’t go for anyone who seems perfect. That sounds like trouble.
