Is Pretense necessary?

why are people always circling in second guessing their ownselves, while putting on a face of pretence?
in case of such people, what are their motives for them being chrinically under a benign burden of proof, even for their own selves?
what does it get them?
are they successful in life, while being unaware of what they truly want?
and for such a person to hide motives or intentions, knowingly, just how wise is that?
what good is pretence?
share if you like.

Peace Dushwari

You have heard of the Johari window, inshaAllah. Apparent and Hidden along the y plane and Known and Unknown in the x plane. It renders four boxes.

AK >> Seeing a lie … calling it a lie = Truth
AU >> Seeing a lie … calling it a truth = Kufr: Hypocrisy
HK >> Not seeing a lie … calling it a lie = Fluke/Inspiration/prudence
HU >> Not seeing a lie … calling it a truth = misguidance/being careless/a mistake

Seeing = Apparent [A]
Not Seeing = Hidden [H]
Being right = Known [K]
Being wrong = Unknown

To knowingly want to be false is a state of hypocritical kufr and carries the greatest punishment. The one less than this is to be wandering blindly as the Qur’an demonstrates, these people have no guidance. The next lot are believers but are not thorough with their faith they are complacent in what happens. The last lot are thorough and steadfast and prudent with truth. The increasing sickness of Pretence goes around the Johari window in an anti-clockwise motion.

See below:

The perceived good in pretence comes from the deluded state that by keeping back the truth that one has in some way gained power over the second party. It is a form of wrongful manipulation and in reality they are only deceiving themselves.

Re: Is Pretense necessary?

actually, i've never heard of johari window. the idea is very novel to me
apparently this concept was tried in this way like so. & you have this in depth information on it. thanks for sharing, brother psyah.
the algorithm is pretty sequential and there is a pattern to it, too: A H K U & their pairs.
what you said about those who practice deliberate pretense. is true.
they are very self deceptive creatures.

pretense is not necessary, absolutely.

Re: Is Pretense necessary?

Very very good topic, Dushwari, Unfortunately, we see this all around us these days. The Johari window is great in explaining this concept.
