Yes socialites and cultures embrace each other with the passage of time.. But Mughal Persian culture could not remove the influence of original Indian culture. We still have lots of traditions in all occasions borrowed from Indian culture.
We will talk about Sirhindi in detail in a new thread shortly... but there is a majority of population in our region, who could not accept those rulers as their heroes. They are still considered as looters and invaders by many.

yes we have indian influence as majority of us are converted Indians.....but dont you see influence of mogol culture on india.....samosa,jalebi,faluda....famous saying in hindi"Haath kangan ko aarsi kya parhe likhe ko farsi kya"......these ruler united muslims....keralian muslims dont know urdu and i know thats not important....but for cultural impact....just see how much area is covered by urdu speaking muslims...and you ll see only people of those area speak urdu where there was a muslim kingdom
But you should consider how Hinduism affected Muslims and their religious practices. From Qawwali to Milad, From tabarruk to Niaz, you can see impacts of Hindu Bhajans, Katha, Parsaad, you can observe deep indian roots not only in our culture, but religion too. When two cultures meet, its not the combination of oil and water (one sustaining its distinct identity), its comibination of sheer o shakar (Milk and sugar) :)
Hindi & Urdu I think is similar to each other but the only difference is in the way of writing it. Like if some1 ask what is difference between English and French than we'll say is the wording (use of alphabets).

milad is limited to sub continent............?no
but i accept that lot of unislamic customs and practices were adopted by muslims.....
and a lot of times converts hesitated to leave few customs.....
i know religions are also mixed to some extent.....
but if we consider every single muslim ruler tyrant then it will be treachery that no other nation ever deed.....
me and you can communicate in same language is only possible due to rule of muslim kings.....
didnt they contribute to indian culture...and accepted good traditions?
The way Milad is celibrated in sub-continent is exactly what the Katha reading ceremonies are in Hinduism.
Regarding contribution of culture, there is no doubt that Persian / Mughal culture left its marks on local culture, but local culture had strong roots too to not only impact mughal culture, but also survive its basics..
I'm not calling all Muslim rulers tyrant.. Once they established their rules, they tried to prove themselves loyal to this land. Sher Shah Suri is an example from such category.
you can have history from the likes of irfan habib or romila thapar, but in the end people pick and choose. i personally like zaid hamid history coz its phunnayyy.. kinda like the hinutva version of taj mahal is an ancient temple named tejo mahalay..
and don’t waste time to change history :cobra: Just learn from your history, think for present and plan for future
