Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

Is it accepted/approved in Islam?

Not only donation also receiving it is accepted?

What about receiving it from a Non Muslim?Or donation to a Muslim by a Non-Muslim?

Re: Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

Why are you asking this? I mean bethe bithae ye khayal kaise aa gaya.

You might be aware that organ donation is a recent phenomenon, so you won’t find anything about donation and receiving organs in original sources of Islam. There might be some fatwas on this saying things in favor and against the process. Google is your friend.

Re: Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

google is run by kafir, and kafirs are not friends…

Re: Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

Good to know that you know our enemies and friends.

Let OP explore it on his own.

Re: Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

as far as recieving it from a non muslim, it could be recieved or donate because i heard hopefully not mistaken blood can be taken from non muslim or donate to non muslim, so i think no problem if organ is there but organ donation is not acceptable in islam in my knowledge. Though the other opinion also exists.

Re: Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

If Google is the only option, then why are you asking questions on this forum? Google is a different world,G.S is a different world.I do not think one is not in a position to garner info here on G.S because G.S has got some excellent people who have in-depth knowledge on these matters.

Re: Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

where did I say that google is your only option? What I told that you will not find reference in original sources and this will be matter of interpretation which can be in favour and against the concept. I know some knowledgeable people here on GS will soon quench your thrust on this matter, but till that time I offerred / referred you easily available source.

Re: Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

I basically do not want to google for this subject.I find GS has got some excellent people on religious matters. The reason for my post here is,we had a debate t office on this particular subject.

Re: Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

My sister had a lung transplant last year. Alhumdulillah it saved her life. They don’t tell you who the organ comes from. There are many fatwas on this. Some say you can others say no. There are some fatwas that say you can receive organs but not donate them. That to me sounds hypocritical. Inshallah if your intention is to help someone then inshallah Allah will reward us. I myself have joined the organ donation list. When I die inshallah if it is needed my organs will be donated. Someone out there decided to donate their organs after death and because they made that decision my sister alhumdulillah has better health and inshallah more years to live. It is with Allahs permission that the transplant was successful. If I can help someone then inshallah I hope Allah will permit it through my organ donation.

Re: Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

When growing up, my family always scared me about donating organs, saying we shouldn’t do it because the murdah would feel too much pain, etc. They said that even if a fly would land on the dead body, the dead person would feel it with pain and nobody should touch a dead body unless necessary when washing and transporting. I have no idea if this is true. I’ve never read this in any book.

Perhaps someone here can explain if this is utter nonsense or not.

Re: Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

This is interesting.

Re: Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

My mother is heart transplanted. I don’t think Islam would forbid anyone from giving life to someone by donating their organs.

Re: Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

@muqawwee123 See Bro,people are giving their fresh hand accounts.

GS is more reliable than Google.

Re: Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

but did you find any reference to religious sources. I told you that

Re: Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

People who made their comments here would have done it with religious backing, right?

Re: Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

Don’t take general Muslim public like Indian PMs like Indira who used to consul astrologers before taking steps even deciding timing of swearing-in (not swearing-at) ceremonies

Re: Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

How did Mrs Indira Gandhi be a part of discussion here? You are confusing all.

What does this subject have to do with astrology?

Re: Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

till you get references from our holy scripture, I’m telling you general psyche of Muslim public that don’t consult muftis before transplantation. It would not be a thought in their mind during such circumstances. aaya kuch samajh main ya doon ik rakh ke :smilestar:

Re: Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

I think it’s in our genes to always be in the receiving end and not at the giving end. When we know our loved ones can be saved by transplanting the organ, of someone who is in critical condition , or possibly medically dead.. why would you not consider the option ???
( keep in mind, the donor side dont tell the doctors which patient they want the heart/liver of , so donor’s family is not responsible for the other person’s death )

We pray for that person’s maghfirat everytime we see our mother walking, cooking, being with us today.

There are some things which we just take to the extreme in getting what’s right and wrong in Islam. Where’s the common sense??

Re: Is organ donation accepted in Islam?

Well, duh, it would be dumb not to. I mean planting a tree is sadqa jaria. Even after you die the shade that tree gives to people is going into your good deeds. I can’t imagine the sawab for helping another human being live. #totallyforgreedyreasons](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=totallyforgreedyreasons)
