Militants kill 7, torch Malam Jabba ski resort
MINGORA: Suspected militants killed a PPP leader, a tribal elder, and their family members, in addition to destroying a police station, a girls’ school and a state-owned hotel in Swat on Thursday. Official sources said that suspected militants set fire to a PTDC Hotel in Malam Jabba and torched a girls’ school and a police station in Barikot. Militants also gunned down local PPP leader Abdul Akbar Khan, his wife, and two sons in Matta tehsil. Separately, suspected militants also killed a prominent tribal elder, his son and mother-in-law, AP reported. Taliban leader Ali Bakht denied his organisation’s involvement in the attacks, saying they went against the spirit of the peace accord. staff report/agencies
