The Prophet :saw: is reported to have said:

"The covenant that stands between us and them is prayer; whoever gives it up is a kaafir.” (Ahmad, 22428; al-Tirmidhi, 2621; al-Nasaa’i, 462)

“Between a man and shirk and kufr there stands his giving up prayer.” (Muslim, 242)

Prayer can also mean reading the quran and other forms of remembrance of Allah not just reading 5 namaz per day.

I agree…Namaz is not prayer…It’s worship of Allah :swt:…

And if you don’t worship Allah :swt: then indeed, you are an apostate…
