so while looking for logo quiz answers
, I ended up on a logo quiz cheats website.. a window popped up saying that windows detected a spyware on ur computer please call this # .. I installed McAfee antivirus since then and ran both Microsoft essential and McAfee scans.. neither of them detected anything.. I heard its hard to detect a spyware?.. I am so paranoid now. I do everything online.. how do I know if I am really infected or not and what are the chances that it would be a key-logger?

Re: Is my computer infected?
is it foolish to think that they were trying to freak me out so I call them and give them my info on my own and they did not really infect my computer with any malware?

Re: Is my computer infected?
you can restore the laptop to factory settings or reinstall the OS
I am attaching an instruction for DELL comp Dell Laptops - Restore factory settings
but it should be similar for any Windows PC - please take backup of your data else you will lose it.
or the malwarebytes is a very good option to disinfect.
Re: Is my computer infected?
If you didn't click anything, then I doubt you have an actual infection. I get those popups too. If you install what they're asking you to install, then you might get into trouble. Since you've already scanned with McAfee and MS Essentials both which didn't pick up anything, you could also try bitdefender quickscan for a third opinion. It's pretty good at finding infections and can usually tell you within a minute.
Re: Is my computer infected?
Try scanning with spybot and malwarebytes and no you don't have to uninstall anything. Spybot and malwarebytes are not anti virus softwares. Spybot is spyware and malware removal software.Malwarebytes for malwares.
