In Mughal Era....Bowing Dowing was symbol of respect....It was done for Kings...This is only a cultural thing and if Muslims can do it to Muslims then whats wrong in doing with Japanese.

meeting everyone is haraam. you are not supposed to walk out of your home without doing any haraam thing. so just dont leave your house. oh, and keep your eyes closed because you might see some haraam things. keep your nose closed because you might smell some haraam things. etc etc.

Bowing is an act of ibadah and Muslims perform it in their Salaahhs; the Rokuu.
