Is MA economics

a bad idea?

I actually want to do MBA but there are only two places i can do it from (if i look at worth part) Lums, its simply too expensive and is out of quetion. Punjab university but they either take fresh graduates or executives :bummer:

So i am thinking abt MA economics instead. Any other suggestions are most welcome :snooty:

hmmm i heard LUMS offers scholarships?

waisay fanta jee, i know of some ppl who study at LUMS and also work on the side to pay their fees...is that a possibility? dono how practical that is being a girl but thought i'd mention it anyway..

MA Econ is a good idea too if u like it n wana do it

good luck

talk to NYA or madhanee. Both of them have done an MA in Economics. As a word of advice, I would leave you with this. “..an economist has the uncanny ability to predict the past” Ommmmm :flower1:

I have a BA in Econ. Cool undergrad major but not for me for the MBA.

I find it interesting. I know the sort of work load they have in their MBA program. Its extremely vigorous. The poor kids don't have time to sleep, much less to do a job on the side (esp. a job which can pay their exorbitant fee). I don't think LUMS has executive MBA, yet.

Faisal yaar,
a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do!

I knew a guy who had a partial scholarship at LUMS and was working almost 50 hours a week to make ends meet... graduated with Honors, mashaAllah.

Faisal bhai actually sorry the person I was referring to studies at LUMS in the computer science track [whatever its name is] and he told me he has friends who also work and study simultaneously. His studies are also very hard but he said with good time management he is able to do it. I don't know about MBA but you are probably right, its probably really tough.

Umar and Irem... BSc in Economics or CS is one thing, their full-time MBA is another. Their workload for BSc is tough, but its totally mind-blowing in MBA. I will salute anyone who can do their MBA there and also perform in a job which pays for the fee.

Actually my bro went to Lums, he did his MS in computer Science from there. He got a scholarship and also took a loan and he also worked whenever possible, which included being a teaching assistant at the same uni. Despite all that my parents had to pay atleast RS 400000 themselves. So there :p

fanta baji its quite a change from ur graduation subject isnt it? i woudl have thoguth u need to have done it in the past because the MA would carry on wat u have done b4. lakin if u really want to then i think u should go for it personally i wouldnt be able to do it u need A level maths here :(

an MA in eceonomics is a very good qualification i think, besides universities in pakistan also offer externael candidate and evening programs too, so one can work and study at the same time.

Waleedun I did my graduation with Economics and Statistics. I then changed the line and did my masters in Mass Communication :p

waleedun lets see if my parents are ready to do the khurcha. The worst part abt PU is that u have to pay the whole 60000 at once :smash: or i could have financed myself atleast for the first semester
