is lipstick not the "cool" thing anymore?

i was talking to my friend the other day and i was telling her that i liked one lipstick from urban decay and she said “you wear lipstick?” the way she said it sounds like i am doing a bad thing, so i asked her why are u asking that she replied that “i only wear lip glosses, lipsticks are for over 40 years old”
is that true? is that the new trend? i usually don’t care what i am wearing on my lips as long as it looks nice. sometimes i combine lipstick and a gloss to create a look i want, but after that conversation with my friend i noticed that pretty much all the girls i see in my college have on lip glosses and i haven’t seen anyone applying lipstick in the ladies room.

so i was just wondering how many of you feel that lipstick are for old ppl and if anyone of u use lip glosses only.

Re: is lipstick not the "cool" thing anymore?

well the thing with lipstick is that most formulas are thicker and require a more precise hand.

little girls just dont have hte patience or makeup know-how to pull off lipstick.

:p

Re: is lipstick not the "cool" thing anymore?

how old is this friend of yours?

lol, i am talking about college girls sara :D

she is 21 i guess

Re: is lipstick not the "cool" thing anymore?

Honestly, I have never worn lipstick just because it makes me look so made up. The most I would wear on lips is colored lip gloss, otherwise it's chapstick all the way. I think it might be because the trend has been towards natural makeup (?) but if it looks good on you, who cares :)

Re: is lipstick not the “cool” thing anymore?

New thing in market for girls is lip-tape specially for wives :k:

Young girls (some mature women too) like lipgloss over lipsticks as they're easier to apply and re-apply. Lipsticks aren't a thing of the past..RED lips are in this season and so are bold purple lips.

Re: is lipstick not the "cool" thing anymore?

I didnt really used to wear lipsticks before, but there are really nice shades that do make you look over done! like delicate pinks!
Ive actually taken to wearing lipsticks more than glosses now!

Re: is lipstick not the "cool" thing anymore?

I've never used a lipstick in past 5 years......I don't even own one. I love glosses though.

Re: is lipstick not the "cool" thing anymore?

i dont think so dat lipsticks r out...although glosses r in trend now adays but lipstick is a thing dat cannt b disappear...but 1 thing is dat all lipstick colors should b properly n decently choosen n applied dat is like absorbed or a part of ur face nt like ghost or mate sharp colors..

Re: is lipstick not the "cool" thing anymore?

*thats news to me! *

\

little girls/college girls…same ish :snooty:

but in all seriousness, i guess lipstick seems more older/mature/made-up etc s compared to lipglosses…

Re: is lipstick not the "cool" thing anymore?

well i personally think lipi is for old people..gloss, lip caryons and stains are the new trend :)

is this because of the trend or personal choice?

i don’t know what you are talking about sara, i feel old and rotten, and that supid back pack might give me early arthiritus or some back problems :frowning:

…is that mean older, mature people don’t wear lipgloss?
i am only asking cuz i hardly ever see an older mature woman reapplying makeup on in the school bathrooms or desi parties so i don’t know why they apply

what is caryons? other then the coloring ones i never knew there is something for face.

Re: is lipstick not the "cool" thing anymore?

Im 22 and i think lipsticks r still cool :D
I wear both but recently i started wearing lipstick more then gloss, i guess it depends on the look and wat suits u, for example if u have big lips wearing gloss makes them look more plumper.

Both. :)

Re: is lipstick not the "cool" thing anymore?

hehehe yanzala actually i meant the lip gloss in solid form, normally cums in caryons etc,,,there is one by palladio called herbal lip slicks..i have them..and they are better then gloss and lipstick..luv them

Re: is lipstick not the "cool" thing anymore?

LOL i've had the same response. I love wearing lipstick as long as it looks good, why care?
