Is jamawar out of fashion in Karachi?

I have to attend a close relative’s wedding in Karachi (in November) and I was thinking of getting a dress made in Jamawar. But my sister (who just moved to Australia 3 months ago) says Jamawar is out, banarsi is in. And also that heavy work is out now, and the new trend is a lot of threadwork and sequins, light diamante work, etc.
Can any Karachiite tell me what is in these days with regards to wedding wear/party wear?

Re: Is jamawar out of fashion in Karachi?

Jamawaar is an all time fabric. It really depends on the way you design it. For a close relatives wedding my advice would b not to go for the threadwork thing - its pretty in these days but more for evening wear dan shaadi types. You can take a raw silk shirt, get kaam done on it (light dabka and sequins...or marori resham n sequins) and get jamawaar pants or capris. Keep the shirt longish:) hope this helps.

Jamavar is still in..people are ordering jamavar for eid too..

Jamawar is still in i wore it at my bro in law mehndi. And both are in heavy kaam and less heavy kaam it depends what you want.
