Kissing on the lips is considered a lot more ‘intimate’. Anyways, neither me nor any of my friends kiss each other on the lips. We’re just not comfortable doing that. 
My parents have never kissed me on the lips either. So it just seems like a very strange/indecent thing to do.
Though some people consider hugging as indecent :S
