Ok so I got a parking ticket this morning.. 
. I want to know if its worth fighting for. The ticket was issued as it says on it at 8:55 am. I paid at the meter at 8:58.. I know right.. fishy. There was no parking on the side I parked until 9 am. Now first of all, the ticket should be invalid because how in the world can I get a ticket before I even parked. And secondly lets say they rule that you still parked 2 min. before 9 am. Well I paid at that time and have a one year old I unbelted from his seat, took a stroller out, put him in it and put belt and then left.. That would’ve at least taken a min or two right.. So should I fight for this.

there is no harm in contesting the ticket in court but chances of you winning are very slim. they have the argument that the car was illegally parked when the officer arrived. you must have taken a few minutes to walk up to the parking meter and displayed it on your dashboard. was it a coin parking?
i think fighting it isn't worth your time and energy and, at the end, all the frustrations that you would have gone thru.
If the amount is small, just pay it and move on. as a matter of principle, yes you may go to court and take all the unnecessary inconvenience.

Okay sure the car was parked 'illegally' while Spiral went to get the parking ticket but what else do they expect? You can't get the ticket without getting out of the damn car. I think you should fight it and since you have a parking ticket for a few mins later they will realize you had only gone to purchase the ticket.

They usually throw out tickets if there is an cop-error in writing up the ticket. Definitely worth fighting over.

See even its before 2 mins when I could park my car... I think the officer wrote 8:55 on the ticket when I have a proof saying I paid for the meter parking at 8:58. Now isn't it wrong of him to write that made up time on the ticket. That's what pissed me off. I would've paid the ticket if the ticket had 8:58 on it.. which means he gave it write as I was printing the meter recipet. Why should I pay the ticket which was given to me (on papers) even before I parked my car there.

Yeah happend at Jackson Heights. I don't call them cops.. they aren't.. just traffic police.. not exactly NYPD.. grrr.. and they make me super mad.

So where was the car while you were getting the ticket? It had to be parked somewhere or was it one of those meters at the door of parking? If you did not leave the vehicle at 8:55am parked illegally then yes the ticket makes no sense. Even if you did leave the vehicle illegally parked at 8:55am to get purchase the ticket you still have a good case I think because you have proof that you stepped out to purchase the parking ticket.

I parked right in front of the meter and that guy wasn't there when I went to the meter to get the recipet printed. He gave me the ticket sometimes after I parked and put the recipet in my car.. so sometimes after 8:58am (I have a proof of that) and he wrote that he gave me the ticket at 8:55. So lets say they say that oh ok so its still not 9:00 .. its 8:58. But isn't the ticket invalid in any case... How can he give ticket at 8:55

Yea in that case you totally have a case. Fight it or it won't even be a fight. It'll just get thrown out.

what about 9 am? as i understand, your car was parked for at least full 3 minutes before you returned after paying your parking fee and getting the ticket printed out...in the mean time, the officer may have come around and saw no proof of payment [receipt] on your dashboard and as a result wrote a ticket...these days they have hand-held electronic devices that spit out the ticket in no time...the officer just punches in your license plate number...all other info is already fed in their machines...and...the officer is long gone after giving you the ticket, well before you return!
i once got a ticket for $300 dollars for just using the 'handicap parking' to make a u-turn...i was in the car when he came by with a printed ticket in his hand, ready to stick it on my windshield. it hardly took 30 seconds for him.

She was getting the parking ticket while right infront of her car. She didn't see anyone come by and give a ticket for parking illegally while purchasing her parking ticket. That means whoever gave the ticket came AFTER she left the parking lot with the parking ticket in her car.
And I'm sorry but your story doesn't make sense. No one gets a parking ticket if you are IN the vehicle especially if you were making a U-turn. I have been parked at various places whithout paying and officers came by but didn't give me a ticket because I was in the car. If you did get the ticket then it would've been thrown out had you fought it.
