Re: is it unusual to like older or more ambitious women
I believe there was a misunderstanding. I realised rv's initial comment was in jest. I know there have been many acceptable examples in history.

That's not a nice thing to say when the guy has been posting about the difficulty he has had in accepting his skin colour. You two should talk, for real. Maybe think about consolidating your threads. :\
Thanks for understanding. Why is kaala always a bad thing. Give me one desi example where it is used in a positive context.

Awesome Jon Stuart quote.
I don’t know if I am. I did study in a progressive institution where i was quite political so these thoughts are natural to me. The guys i admire who are good family guys seem to have a good balance. I don’t want to be a doormat or a white knight as they say but at the same time i want to be respectful and gain respect. White Knights and Badasses | Gentlemen Calling Need to tread the boundary between gentleman, with some respectable bad boy characteristics as a surprise element, without wilting into a complete white knight. If you’re just someone who just says yes with no voice or leadership qualities you get no respect.
I want to try to embody the spirit of the modern day gentleman with a desi touch. Not there yet and sometimes i get impulsive and angry but that is what i want to try.

I think with any political ideology that seeks change there are extremes within the feminist movement but as a concept and idea it is valid. The Prophet(SAW) himself would have even endorsed some of these concepts. The idea that all guys and girls are equal in itself is reasonable and depending on your nature we might be good at some things compared to others. Though definitely there is a trend with some guys better at some thinigs compared to women and vice versa women being better at other things. I feel like it hasn’t fully worked out because it’s gone a bit extreme in some cases, a lot of women don’t have that mindset towards other females, many would put each other down and guys in general haven’t had a similar version where they respect choices of other guys. Like if a guy does something not seen as “traditionally masculine” he is called feminine names and put down. Like “ghar jaon chooriyan pehno” type of thing. Like being compared to females is a bad thing when they are strong enough to have capacity to go through something we cant eg. childbirth or periods. some guys are even scared of blood.
What’s wrong with a guy who has a mixture of both qualities? someone who can fix a broken tyre, knows his way around a kitchen to cook great meals, is good with outdoor stuff but also indoor stuff, who is active but doesn’t mind reading, appreciating music, poems and good movies. Someone who is both tough and gentle but also a good leader and follower.
I’m sure already a lot of guys are like that but not sure if it seen so well in society.
Not just to make girls like you but these are all good life skills and no job should be too small or too big for anyone. It’s seems impossible but it’s worth trying for. Likewise with girls. They shouldn’t be discouraged to learn guy things. Difference is they’ll be good with some things and you’ll be good at others.
