That Saudi Arabia has 50% divorce rate? And that it only recently passed a Law that women cannot be forced into a marriage. Prior to this law, it was OK for women to be forced into marriages that they didn’t want, but they couldn’t do anything about it.
I didn’t know about the 50% divorce rate. May be some Arbi people (or those living there) can shed some light on it. Thanks.
Nahi Madhanee.. its safaid jhoot. I know three Saudi families. Only one of them had a divorce. So it should be 33% and not 50%. See! it's so easy to pull statistics out of thin air.
Romeo, these are Moamalat of Shadi Beah… these matters shouldn’t concern you. Jao and BachyaN phasao.
:jhanda:
Faisal Bhaijan, here’s a link for you. I will get you 50% figure too. Hosla rakhaiN. I am not going to cheat you off the reamining 17 percent. Filhal, do with 33%.
The country’s top cleric, Grand Mufti Sheik Abdul Aziz al-Asheik, who heads the Council of Senior Islamic Scholars, has banned the practice of forcing women to marry against their will, saying those responsible should be imprisoned, the official Saudi Press Agency reported. ‘‘Forcing a woman to marry someone she does not want and preventing her from wedding that whom she chooses is not permissible’’ under Islamic law, he said. According to Saudi news media, half of the marriages in the country end in divorce, and the high number of forced marriages is thought to be the main reason behind the growing divorce rate.

Yeah but the divorced cattle, I mean women, are taken as 14th or 15th wife or something. So 50% is a hollow statistic, just like 0%. Which is redundantly hollow.
that sounds too low a divorce rate for KSA...do the math yourself...if every man wants to marry 12 women in his life time but he can marry only 4 at any given time, that means he has to divorce minimum 8 women in his life time. that 8 divorces per 12 marriages. Now punch on your calculator 8 divided by 12 times 100.
madhanee man are u going through a divorce or what? For someone who happens to be a muslim and going through a divorce, these statistics can be quite encouraging! afterall arent saudis considered to be the epitome of muslim ummah
p.s amreeka is the worst place to divorce (for men) !!
