Bollywood is never correct in historiography nor they are professional, Indian are very nationalistic people to the level that they are blind in nationalism, even sports is seen from the prism of nationalism something that India created after years of indoctrination more out of need than out of sense.
Same is the situation here. People started praying at the time of Pak-India matches like its a dharam-yudh :D

This country is secular to whatever extent because hindus are in majority if it has been muslims or sikhs things would have been different. Minorities in India has most of the times failed in proving worthy of anything, whenever something happens to minorities in India it becomes blot on secularism but not vice versa. Anti Sikh riot happened in India but what happened in Punjab during bhidranwale time with hindus is data, Babri got demolished is against secualrism but what happened with pundits in Kashmir is incident, Gujrat riot is shame on India but what happened in Godhra is inquiry commission:D
when muslims were in majority in some region they got pakistan when Sikh became majority in country it wanted to be Khalistan but still hindu dominated india is secular democratic socialist republic of India.
Sikh did all sorts of activity like terrorism, drug trafficking, smuggling but it was acceptance of majority that sikh bounced back in a decade and now are the strongest minority in India:k: same thing is not possible in any other country in the world in such a short time:) I am happy to see a hindu dominated India, god forbid, present day minorities dominating India would become a hell to live in:)

While I agree to most of your points. I would say if Indian media didn’t get any responsibility for Pakistani viewers / reader, then why should Pakistani media is required to be secular towards India as enquired by the OP? While India may consider Pakistan inferior, believe Pakistanis have never been in inferirity complex when it comes to India
Besides, Pakistan may easily make dramas / movies against India, but being viewer of both Pakistani and Indian media, I see India produces more content against Pakistan than vicecerce.

The kaur you know that culprit of Godhra have been sentenced while culprits of gujrat riots are yet to be punished...
In same manner culprits of 93 bomb blast at least foot soldiers are punished while accused of 93 riots are yet to be punished...
Muslim have all right to point at gujrat,babri mosque incidents....
We the muslim of India are not responsible for killing of pundas in kashmir why we should be apologetic for act of kashmiri militants?
ANd just check how government of gujrat discriminated against muslims of after math of gujrat riots....

i have some friends who say the same thing - that hindus are more secular and tolerant than everyone else blah blah. but thousands of years of imposed discrimination based on caste, etc doesn’t quite fit in with this version. and muslims making good just rulers in todays world - that is another joke. muslims have trouble even tolerating minorities within their own faith. bottomline is, i wouldn’t trust either of these sides to be able to run a society based on religious ideology.
historically in the indian subcontinent, most successful empires have been built with inclusion of “minority” communities(usually the rich and the powerful segments). the ones who weren’t willing to work with others based on religion were mostly just looters or short-lived nobodies. those with vision had no other choice.
