is it true about baby's Gender?

I have heard that you can predict the gender of your baby by using the heart rate of your baby during pregnancy. It was said that 140+ beats per minute (BPM) was a girl and under 140 BPM was a boy. Is this true?

Re: is it true about baby's Gender?

^ I don't know that that is a hard and fast rule, but I think that is the tendency. Higher heart rates often indicate girls.

Re: is it true about baby's Gender?

It's another one of the old wives tales.

Re: is it true about baby's Gender?

It's definitely an old wives tale...I had a baby boy and his heart rate was always over 140...

My scan told me I am having a girl...but I did the ring on the thread thing and it always said that my first child would be a boy...I found it pretty freaky when fiction won over science in the delivery room haha

Re: is it true about baby’s Gender?

No wonder in Pakistani movies, heroine ka dil hamesha zor zor se dharaktaa thaa ..

Girl’s heart does beat faster :hmmm:

Re: is it true about baby's Gender?

TLK:That's funny,hehehe.

Its just an old wives tale!!

ring on the thread thing....whats that?

Re: is it true about baby's Gender?

dunno if its true or not but where i used to live bfre they dnt tell u the heart rate anymore because a ew women ended up sueing the midwife coz she told the the heart n its most likely boy/girl

Definately old wives tale.

Re: is it true about baby's Gender?

Baby girls tend to experience a higher heart rate at the onset of labor than boys, but at other times there is little difference, so it's not a good method for determining gender in early pregnancy.

Re: is it true about baby's Gender?

Old wives tale!

what is this ring on the thread thing??.... how do you do it..

someone plz explain!!

You put a ring or other pendant on a string or chain---it doesn't matter, the important thing is to have a weighted object that you can dangle. I know of two variations:

1) If you're already pregnant, you hold the string over your belly, keep your hand absolutely still, and wait for it to start swinging. If it swings in a circular motion, you've got a girl. If it swings back and forth in a linear motion, you've got a boy.

2) You can also do this over the palm of your hand to 'read' what all of your children will be. Same thing---circles are girls, lines are boys. There will be a pause between each child. At the end (no more children left), the ring will stop swinging. I think it counts stillbirths/late miscarriages.

I tried the second method, and it said I'm going to have two boys and a girl, in boy-girl-boy order. I'm currently pregnant and according to ultrasound first baby is a boy!

^ I did it like the second method and I got 2 boys and 2 girls....in a boy-girl-boy-girl order....As I mentioned, the first one did came out right...

I did it for my mum and it came out in the exact same order as all of us siblings are....quite freaky to be honest!

Re: is it true about baby's Gender?

^ thanks, will try this when pregnant again!
i already have 2 boys and eagerly want a girl soon, iA.

Try it over your hand---it's supposed to read all children, including future children, so you can get a non-scientific, fun reading of whether or not a girl is next! :)

Re: is it true about baby's Gender?

^im gonna try this later on 2day, thanks:)

Wow, iv never heard of this ring thing, gonna try it tonight though, those of you who have done it please share how accurate it was

Also can you clarify does it make any difference on what hand you do it on?? and does it stop itself are you supposed to "help it"

Re: is it true about baby's Gender?

i'v tried the ring thing for me and it came out to be true (Freaky!!)...first linear motion (boy) and second circular motion (girl)...:)
