If you see a 'group or individual' involved in anything that is inhumane or physically abusive to any person whatever their religion, sect, belief or faith ... then consider that 'group or individual' are children of 'Shaitan', Jahannumi and cursed ... regardless of what they claim for themselves (even of they claim that they are Muslim).
One sign of a Muslim is that, no peaceful person would fear Muslim and would always going to consider his life and property safe from Muslim, and even those who are at war with Muslims should not feel scared that Muslim could become inhumane towards them or would physically abuse them, their old, their young, their women, or their children.
Actually, a Muslim may cause injury or death to armed men while at war with them, but no Muslim would harm anyone unarmed. Reason is simple, that is, all humans regardless of their religion and beliefs, are creation of Allah and it is Allah who gave them life and made their life sacred for all. They are going through their own test, so no Muslim interferes with other person’s faith or beliefs, other than engage them in mutual discussion. Only reason a Muslim raise their arms against someone is when under attack, in defence, or against oppressors (to recover what they lost but is rightfully belong to them … that is, to safeguard or reclaim their possessions ... be that possession land or wealth).

In this age of internet and information, we can easily see what this group is doing in the name of Islam. It's up to people to decide if they still want to follow them or not
