I would say dont go for it.
1) Your friend will have to be honest with the girl, which would mean, he will have to let her know and if she doesnt know her sister was involved, then that would create friction btw the two sisters
2) If he goes ahead and marry the girl and THEN the girl finds out, she would be living in a mental torture
3) and like someone else said, this could create problems for the engaged sister.

not a good idea, the Ex may break her engagement and cause more drama.

Wow something very similar almost happend to me except it was the girls cousin. Back when I graduated highschool I had a phyisical relationship with another Pakistani girl, later while in collage my mom arranged for me to meet a rishta, we went to this girls home and their sitting beside the girl was the cousin I had relations with, the meeting went well as I only talked to the girls father and brothers, later my mother asked what I thought of her and I just said she wasn't my type. It all went fairly good. But I did make some really awkward I contact with her cousin.
