Is it righteous to support Hezbollah?

Is it rigtheous to support Hezbollah even though they are shia? Me and my friend got into an argument over this topic.

we should support those people who try to save innocent citizen of lebanon

and it is very sad that only Hezbollah ,s group are working over there and we muslims are not showing deep support for lebanon people this not a war between hezbollah,s group and israel this is a war between muslim and israel but afsoos all the media except few are telling the exact effects and figure about israel ,s cruel reaction

It is sad armughal, although I am not a Muslim, but a Lebanese Christian, it still disheartens me at a time when all Muslims and Arabs should be united against Israel.

But we should also look at WHY this debate happens when Shias attack Israel or when Shias gain power in Iraq or Iran.

A debate about supporting or opposing Hezbollah has exposed split in the Arab world. Some leading ulema have come out in favour of the Saudi governments position that the Lebanese outfit is a terrorist group and that Muslims should not support its actions. Others contend Hezbollah deserves the Ummahs backing as it is fighting an oppressor.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Jabreen, a mufti, has issued a fatwa advising Muslims not to support Hezbollah, declaring that it was against Shariat to support, join, or even pray for a ‘terror group.

Our advice to Sunnis is to denounce them, shun those who join them to show their hostility to Islam, to Muslims.

Support Muslims.

A man who believes in Allah and his Prophet is a muslim, and as such we donot HAVE ANYRIGHT to judge him otherwise.

A man who believes in Allah and his Prophet WILL enter heaven sooner or later, though he may first go to hell to cleans him of his sins.

Donot boil this down to secretarian stuff, because secretarian violence is the downfall of the Ummah.

You folks need to realize that, you need to see how we're spending more time fighting ourselves than anyone else.
