Does it seem wise to just pull out? And InShaaAllah pray another proposal of this nature comes by at a later stage.

Threatening?thats severe on his part and in case he is divorcing they both should hve their own reasons. Not becuz of you.

Their decision of staying/divorcing and your decision of accepting someone should be independent of each other
