Is it really your skin colour or your accent?

Re: Is it really your skin colour or your accent?

Both accent and skin color determines how "natives" will perceive you.

My accent is completely Brit without any sign of Pakiness to it, northern to be precise, a bit like Amir Khan’s only more Mancunian and less Pakier and I’m not that dark neither and could easily pass for Italian or something but as soon as I introduce myself by my name or they find out my parents are from Pakistan, I notice the change in peoples look and tone as though I just puked all over them. There are a lot of decent people though who tell me I’m British (European) of Pakistani (South Asian) descent, something I don’t wholly agree with as I consider myself both British and Pakistani but I appreciate their good intentions.
