Is it possible??

Assalamualikum
I have few questions regarding my brother’s wedding. We have been in America for quite long and don’t know much about how long does it take to get things ready in Karachi Pakistan.
We are planing to go 4 weeks in advance for my brother’s marriage in shaa Allah.

Can we make Bari in 4 weeks??

Can bridal dresses (for Mehndi baraat & valima) be made in 4 weeks??

Can bridal jewelry be made in 4 weeks??

Can the grooms dresses and shairwani be made with in 2 weeks. Cuz groom cannot go 4 weeks in advance.

Can the siblings / family dresses be made in 4 weeks??

We are going to have other things like venue, photographer , event managers and catering booking in advance.

Please help answer these questions as I’m totally confused and cannot go before 4 weeks …

Is all of that possible in 4 weeks??

Thanks in advance.

Re: Is it possible??

I don't think all of this is possible in 4 weeks. Is it possible for someone in Pakistan (a relative etc) to start doing these things? My wedding is IA in April in Pakistan and hubby, myself and my family will be travelling there for it. My in laws have chosen my dress already (about 2 weeks ago now) and it isn't going to be ready until late March, although it is HSY. Basically if you are going designer you need at least 3 months. On the other hand, a cousin of mine bought her wedding dress ready made and got the fitting done (she had no one in Pakistan to do it for her and had to wait until she reached there herself) and this was all done within 1 week but if you buy ready made you probably have to compromise more on colours etc and maybe even the finishing.

Re: Is it possible??

There are lots of option available for ready made stuff but I think they will be costly! If you go to a designer and get majority of your outfits made by them, they will hopefuly give you a package rate.

Is it possible??

That is the problem we can't go any earlier than a month. Apart from bridal dresses... Can Bridal jewelry be done in that time frame??

Re: Is it possible??

Sure why not, but again you will not be able to bargain much or get jewellery remade in a style u like but to get it it made within yr budget due to time constraints...things like that! But I think if you deal with it smartly, you should be ok!

Re: Is it possible??

^Agree

It is possible but there'll probably be a lot of compromises rather than getting things 100% to your liking..

Possible.order most of the dresses online so they are ready by.the time you reach Pakistan and you can do jewelry in remaining time

Re: Is it possible??

Couple of notes.
All the shopping is possible in 4 weeks but know that you will be spending a heck of a lot more as there is no time for bargain hunting and you will be paying all vendors higher fees to get your stuff sewn/done within your deadline.
you will have no ... and i mean NO downtime. you will have to hit the stores right away and all day and every day. its exhausting.

I'd recommend what proto and others have said. try to order/manage as much as you can ahead of time. Its doable in this age of internet and phone calls. Go only to reputable vendors.
make use f this site for reviews/advise on where to go/who to contact in your city ... it helps a LOT!

Is it possible??

Thanks chamann. The only thing is that I have ordered before online after reading reviews but the problem was that they used very cheap material and waisted my money. Also , I feel like they read on Facebook that I'm in USA so they overcharge me anyway. It's not like that we get money from trees. This really upsets me. I really want something that I want with good quality material. I don't work or earn any kind of money. So the money I spend needs to be spent wisely. I hope u understand my point. I'm just so very confused.

Re: Is it possible??

im sure everyone feels the same about spending money :)
karachi is huge. Just make a list of places that will give you the best bang for your buck and rest will work out inshallah.
good luck with everything.

Re: Is it possible??

You can get everything made within the described time frame but of course there would have to be compromises. i am sure even designers would have a few ready to wear bridal dresses available, try Karma. But if you are going to go non -designer I suggest PLK on tariq Road and Rim Jhim in Clifton. They will customize your bridal dress and they do have heavily worked bridal dresses available as well.

Is it possible??

Thanks guys I feel much better now. I was stressing out :-)
