It depends on how emotional of a person you are. Personally, I think its good to part ways as amicably as possible and then cut off contact. Dont burn bridges but dont create problems for yourself either by keeping that line of communication open.
If you can talk to the person and not allow your feelings to come back and take over...then sure. If not, please change your phone number and email address right away. Maybe its a possibility a couple of years down the road but not now.

Most ppl who seek friendship with their Exes are really wanting to know what their ex is upto, who they are seeing, are they in a relatinoship, is the girl prettier than me etc.
I wouldnt recommend wanting to be friends with the ex.
No...wanting to be friends is just a lame excuse to be around that person again.
