is it okay for a women to work in islam?
and under what Circumstances?

a woman can work, only thing is she has to cover herself (do hijab).
A woman's place ideally is in the home but she is allowed to work.It is not required for the woman to work but it is for her husband to provide for her.I think majority of women should not work but some of them should.
However women in an islamic society have to take some jobs as teaching,doctors,nurses etc.Because in these jobs they have to provide service to women that men cannot.
In general the circumstances where a woman is allowed to work have to beconsidered in my view on a case to case basis.One thing goes without saying...it should not involve anything disliked from an islamic perspective.The environment of workplace and area etc. is also important.
