Hey guys i just ordered a 40% glycolic acid peel and I did the peel today for the first time (never done peels before), it burned a bit but redness went away and face looks fine…the box says “do not do more than once a week” I wanna do it again next week since it was fine on my face…however is it safe? would you recommend it? is 2 weeks a good amount? I don’t want it to be harmful on my skin…
Also yes I will wear heavy sunscreen afterwards! :))

i just ordered the lactic acid peel, and the team at the place i bought it from, advised me to do it once a week......for 5 to 6 weeks and then move onto the 50%, AND stick to once a week.....

i wanted to ask - r these peels same as exfoliating....so once i do a peel doi i stop using my usual exfoliating methods..

I don't see why not but if you're a beginner...try spacing it out a bit so you can build tolerance. Is this your first time with glycolic acid?

reha-IS a peel same as exfoliating..should i stop exf my face now..and also whats the best subscreen i should get, the one ive got is 30spf at the moment...whats the best and cheapest sunscreen for face-hopefullu non-comedogenic...

Exfoliating is basically sloughing away dead skin.

A peel is peeling layers of damaged skin off...much stronger but the same. If you're going to do a peel soon, you should not be using any other exfoliants. You've got raw, fresh skin and it should NOT be irritated at all. If you peel or flake...let it flake. Don't touch or pick at your face no matter how gross it looks. If the skin doesn't fall off on its own, its not ready to come off and you may scar.

Sunscreen...I use Clinique's (its roughly $17) BUT Neutrogena makes a great one as well if you're looking for more drugstore brands. There's another one called Ocean Potion that I've heard great things about as well but have not tried it. Its sold at most Wal Marts actually for around $5 or so. I use nothing less than SPF 40 always.

40% Glycolic - I would recommend waiting at least 10 days(if not the full 2 weeks) between peels. Again...just b/c you don't "see" anything happening....that doesn't mean that the skin has totally healed. I know for my skin personlly....40% GA 1x/week would be too much (it'll cause too much dryness).

With Lactic peels....yes....once a week is fine b/c its so gentle.

ok, thanks, so im only gna be peeling and no other exfoliating once a week.....
i just checked the ocean potion one on amazon, its 30ML cheap, but no reviews yet. what did you hear about it, i usually break out if anything heavy and some sunscreens are...
