There is a thing within South Asian culture which suggests that piety is somehow linked to non materialism…i dunno if it was the Hindus or what or even the Buddhists which gave the idea that being pious is seperating yourself from wordly life…
You get that attitude from people aswell…so obviously if a guy drives a nice car he cant be religious whilst that jobless guy who comes for the same number of prayers is obviously more pious since hes not wearing Armani etc…
Lol i remember seeing two bearded Pakistanis in their fifties, slawar kameeze and everything park up outside the masjid in a CLK convertible…the automatic reaction is that theere is some sort of contradiction…
Now is there actually a contradiction…Islam does not forbid any of these things so whats everyones hangup with it?..is the issue one of flaunting rather than wealth?..so if your rich you should be modest in your spending etc?..so buy a modest house rather than a big one?..as in what i dont understand is why everyone at the masjid assumes the worst once they see money, a nice car and a nice house…
Almost the idea that by being somewhat succesful in ths life there is no way you can be succesful in the next…
