Re: Is it not a good idea to reunite India and Pakistan and save poor Kashmiris
What nonsense! India has kept Kashmiris under subjugation for more than five decades. Pakistan has been voicing it’s desire to solve the dispute. Here comes a genius, luring people with Memon history in India, with the most wonderful solution of all: Pakistan should also accept Indian subjugation. Problem solved.
The resolution of Kashmir issue would take bold steps from both parties. If India continues to delay the settlement of the dispute by raising false alarms about millitancy, and by trying to embroil Pakistan in CBMs, then it’s not going away any time soon. It’s in the interest of both countries to solve the dispute and let people of Kashmir determine their own fate. It can’t be done by repeating the election drama in Kashmir again and again. Recognize the fact that there’s a problem, and sit down with both Pakistan and Kashmiri representatives to solve the problem.
So far unification of India and Pakistan is concerned … Dream on! There may be more Muslims in India. They may be prosperous or they may impoverished. Pakistan is a sovereign country. If Indian Muslims act against Pakistani interests, they’re not friends of Pakistan. So, all these emotional appeals of ‘we have more Muslims’ wouldn’t solve the dispute.
