where as everything is fine on my laptop…
so what gives..??!!
tried cleaning for spyware, daily cookie cleanup…etc
My win xp firelwall is not running but my Macafee is enabled…
this is motly when i run links from cricket nama and video section…
Is the speed slow on other sites? Check the speed of desktop and laptop at Speakeasy AND Cnet
If its the desktop that scores low on both test, then it seems like your desktop (browser settings, running torrents, etc) ; it may also be the port of your router … so try changing the port on the desktop on the router.
It can be anything. Check the duplex setting on the NIC stream flow, browser caching. Also try to listen/watch streaming media using direct real player or Media player (without browser plugins). Also check ur firewall settings.
I mean it can be anything .. u have to do full investigation & compare the setting of desktop & laptop.
Yes I tried switching ports..
thought is could be ISP as it seemed the laptop is also slow...
but I will check the browser setting...
Another thing I noticed is that I had installed the desktop weather from weather channel...
so now my desktop has that ...could that be slowing down the download streaming ...?
I would call up the isp and do a test using the desktop computer. You should also try re-booting all your hardware including the modem and the router.
Also if you reset you're router (has nothing to do with your current computer settings) you can have it so it's fresh out of the box and you can mess all over again with it to see what the problem was/is.
