I am 23 married and mother of one all my college years i was trying to please my dad by being something in medical field… i knew i don’t want to be a Dr so i did Nursing… just got my license to work as a nurse recently but now i feel like i picked the wrong profession i want to do something in education i have my Rn through a two year program still have to finish my Bachelors
Is it a gud idea to completely change my profession and start school all over again or just work with what i have?

If you want to teach, you don't have to change your profession. With a Bachelors, you can teach nursing classes and go into teaching in the healthcare field. I know of a couple of people who were in a similar position. They obtained degrees in the medical field and later discovered that it wasn't for them. Both now have teaching jobs in the medical field, one at a medical school and the other at a local nursing college.

Um it's never too late to start over. You're only 23...people start over in their thirties. If you've got the drive and a path, you'll be fine.

think twice before you make a decision to change your profession.

since you have invested your, time, energy and money to become a RN, you have good opportunity to secure a gainful employment with good benefits as nurses are in great demand all across the world. . i would sat, it's kinda late now i know the phrase, "it's never too late!") ... but, think from practicality POV, you are married with a child. would it be possible to re-invest your time, energy and money once again in a new profession where job is not as easy coming as in the nursing field.

i think it will be unfair to your husband, your child and to your community at large because you utilized one valuable spot in nursing school with no benefits being returned to the community.

i would strongly recommend that you stay with what professional education and training you have received and try to find a job in that field and professionally grow from there. :)

Life is too short to live with regrets. 23 is nothing, you’re still a baby :blush:

Follow your gut instinct and if that means switching career paths and going back to school for something else, I say go for it!

Oh my god your not old! Your only 23. I would say to think more about if you were in your late 20s. Are you married? Is your husband supportive of you going back?

I have to agree with what most of the people here are suggesting. You are quite young and still have time to change your profession. (Not that its impossible later, just you have to consider other aspects as well.) However your objective needs to be absolutely clear when you do that. I have highlighted your post where I see a bit of question mark. What is it that you want to do in Education? What was your interest before you started studying for RN?

B4 nursing I want to go into teaching but back then I was just trying to please my father who I love dearly but after 2 whole years of nursing school which was pure hell I just think I have the courage on more time to complete one year of BSN study but starting all over scared me my hubby is engineer and very supportive he says I can do whatever I want.

Listen, u can do anythng u want by d help ov ALLAH n determinatn. Peopl wil try to mak u realze that u cnt do it. But trust me i hav seen people, who swichd their fieldz. Nw they r sucesful. 1 sentnc decidz " DAR K AGY JIT HA". u want to win ? Face ur fear ... No body wil come to do it 4 u. Its uu....actualy

you can still teach in the nursing field. and nursing's a nice field...yo nurses own the hospitals and make nice money. doctors are scared of nurses. true story

You are young, I would not go back to college but teach nursing instead.

Not sure if anyone else mentioned this but you might want to get some work experience in teaching to help you decide if that's definitely for you

You can't teach nursing if you have no experience of working as a nurse. And if u do, you will be a lousy teacher. But ofcourse its never too late.

Try to land yourself a one or two day nursing job and try to make yourself a one or two day teaching/tutoring at home job and leave 3 to 4 days free for baby and hubby and you are on a winner.

Variety is the elixir of satisfaction.
