is it just me or......

Recently I have been listening to Pakistani pop music, and I think they are way better than before. What do you guys think? I think I’m in love with Abrar ul haq. I just love listening to his song even though I can’t understand a word of Punjabi.

PS. also let me know your favorite pop singer and your favorite song.

It's just you. I think they were better a while back, with a few exceptions, Abrar being one of them.

Junoon for example are awful.

and you suck...just kidding...not.

junoon rocks!

Pakgurl, I agree

See the industry has been stagnant for a long time, becuz not many pple thought it was worth investing in...but now the experimental musicians of the 80's and early 90's have matured, since they've been making so much music. Thus, i think for most of the artists, the latest music is really their best thus far.

Plus, now more record companies and channels have popped up that are looking into bringing out new talent - ex. BMN music, Indus music, ARYdigital records, Sadaf, Evernew, etc.

Hopefully, it'll just keep getting better.

Pakistani music was always great, especially after mid 80's when Nazia(may God rest her soul in peace) and Zohaib came into the picture, there was a boom in pakistani pop music industry..

If u cant beat’em in size, Kill’em !!!

Todays Pakistani music is more like Pakistani Punjabi music, rather than the old fashioned Pakistani pop music.
not that there is anything wrong with it.
Every single song you see on t.v nowdays is in punjabi rather than being in urdu, the official language of pakistan.

100 percent agree.

Add pakistani films in there too. I'm surprised all the Pakistani dramas aren't in Punjabi by now!

True there's nothing wrong with it as such, but it does cause problems.

People in Pak whose native tongue is not Urdu- Pathans, Sindhis, Seraikis, etc. resent being told to speak Urdu all the time, and then see nothing but Punjabis singing in Punjabi all the time.
