If I remember correctly, there is a hadeeth about shaitan using his left hand in that manner and thus NOT prefered to use left hand while eating, drinking.. etc..
all other things like using right foot to enter mosque or left to exit the toilet for that matter are actually Sunnah and bring reward if done with that intention and recitation of the prayer recommended in ahaadeeth.
