I am left handed and I’ve always eaten food with my left hand. I’ve heard that eating with the left hand is haram by many Muslims and from others I’ve heard it is makrooh. The left/right thing goes farther than this. You’re suppose to leave your house with the right foot first. You can only do read tasbih, Quran with the right hand. Without getting too graphic I think hygienically speaking it would be better for a left handed person to eat with the left hand. Does anyone have a specific hadith that points out this subject?

I don't know..i don't think islam is that controlling that the way you walk, the way you eat, the way you drink is given so much importance...

If I remember correctly, there is a hadeeth about shaitan using his left hand in that manner and thus NOT prefered to use left hand while eating, drinking.. etc..
all other things like using right foot to enter mosque or left to exit the toilet for that matter are actually Sunnah and bring reward if done with that intention and recitation of the prayer recommended in ahaadeeth.

Yes, I've heard about the shaitan thing as well. So I guess shaitan also eats food like we do?

well he is from Jinns and Jinns are given about the similar necessaties as humans. They do eat for what I know. I’ve heard that their mostly used meal consists of bones..
