to go to the mosque?
I’ve been looking for some answers and wanted to go to my local mosque to speak to an Imam. My mother doesn’t allow me and keeps saying how its not right for Muslim women to go there.
Is this true?

Re: Is it haram for Muslim women..
there is nothing wrong with Women going to the mosques. almost around the world muslim women go to mosques. it is only in the subcontinental version that women are not allowed to do so.
Re: Is it haram for Muslim women..
Peace Helpp!
It is permissible for a women to offers prayers in Masjid however its not encouraged. Is is better for women offers theirs prayer at home.
In Hadith Sahih Bukhari Book “Prayers (Salat)” Hadith No. 368:
Narrated 'Aisha R.A.: Allah’s Apostle
used to offer the Fajr prayer and some believing women covered with their veiling sheets used to attend the Fajr prayer with him and then they would return to their homes unrecognized.
Scholars says woman are allowed to offer prayers in Masjid on following conditions:
1- Ask permission from the husband,
2- Donot put on Perfume and Make-up,
3- Donot wear such ornaments which produce sounds,
4- Donot mix with mens,
5- Follow the route which eliminate interaction with other genders.
6- Do not wear those thing which draw attention of men towards them etc.,
Womens either local residence or visitors offers theirs prayers at Masjid-e-Nabwi but in separate place which is only for ladies. If women’s visiting masjid declared as haram than they won’t allowed to offers theirs prayers at Masjid-e-Nabwi too from the begining.

Re: Is it haram for Muslim women..
Muslim women are allowed to visit a mosque. The biggest example is masjid-e-nabvi where u see men and woman together.
Muslim woman aren't allowed to go to a mosque and perform prayers along with men. If in the mosque there is a separate place for ladies then they can visit that.
Re: Is it haram for Muslim women..
And why is that?
so that they dont divert attention of men (i think)
Re: Is it haram for Muslim women..

Technically we're allowed to pray in the same room but men separate in front with women behind them but a lot of desis are obviously uncomfortable with that.. Arranged like that or with a curtain/barrier is perfectly acceptable in terms of Islam, it doesn't necessarily have to be a separate room let alone a separate building..
