For the most part, like 99.9999% of the time, we know parents are doing their best and only want the best for kids. But sometimes you see a kids behavior (or the parents behavior towards their child/other children) and you can’t help but think…damn what a bad parent. or that the parent is such a way that you feel sorry for the kind of kids they will raise.
Personally I cannot imagine calling someone a bad parent because their childs development is different than other childrens or that they have different habits… but I have seen parents who beat their children, who cannot control their anger, or who are just selfish and mean and neglectful…im sure we’ve all seen at least one person like that.
I’m not a parent so obviously I don’t know how it feels but I can undrestand why some parents could get offended with this even if they are good parents…
as I said in my blog, if someone is an abusive parent, or someone is drinking, smoking (or indulging in adult activities) in the presence of their kids, then the person is a bad parent.
Now drinking or watching porn or just being nude in the presence of your kids does not happen in our society but i've seen people smokimng when their 3 year old son is in their lap. That just boils my blood.
bad parent is a extreme word.... to some bad parent implies abuse and to some giving a child excessive sugar. To put those two parents in the same category seems a bit harsh.
All I know is no one really comes up with a parenting tutorial. It's a learn on the go kinda job which makes it harder.
In the end it's your children as adults that can really tell you whether you were a good parent YIKES
I would HURT if someone called me a bad mother. It would hurt more than being called bad employee or a bad wife or bad sister.
I think much as I find it rupulsive there are bad parents out there... I know of children that were used as ciggarete stubs by thier parents... I only pray that I never become labelled as a bad parent.
