is it ever going to happen

Hi all iv been trying for a baby on and off for three years. And it just is not happening. There is nothing medically wrong with us and im beginning to feel like its never going to happen :frowning:

Re: is it ever going to happen

Have you seen a fertility specialist?

Re: is it ever going to happen

^ I second what Sahar said. You and hubby should both visit the fertility clinic to check that everything is ok, sometimes it is just a small thing that can be easily treated.

Re: is it ever going to happen

yes we have been and they said nothing is wrong with either of us. i have low vitamin d levels but thats it. otherwise we are both in good health , unexplained problem.

its just so frustrating

Re: is it ever going to happen

I'm sorry Mehreen, that sounds like a very frustrating position to be in.

Re: is it ever going to happen

it is, especially when there is nothing wrong with you. its not something you can just fix . I had lots of friends who took time in geting pregnant but they all had medical explainations for it. For me its like theres nothing wrong, yet everythings wrong. im trying to be patient and think that it will happen some day but its hard to keep positive and keep urself in the mood for baby dancing. its begnning to hit us now and we are findin hard to deal with.

Re: is it ever going to happen

Maybe you should go for IVF? If there is nothing wrong with either of you, IVF has a very high success rate in such situations. All the best!

Re: is it ever going to happen

yeah, IVF or artificial insemination are usually recommended in the case of unexplained fertility issues. I can understand how stressful it is going through this, may Allah bless you with a child soon.

Re: is it ever going to happen

iA it will happen. Have you consilted with a fertility specialist or reproductive endocrinologist?

Re: is it ever going to happen

OMG... :(

Re: is it ever going to happen

Thank you so much ladies , Ihave stated taking multi vitamins (prenacare ) ones. Lets hope they help. Yes the doc mentioned that we could go for these treatments. Its just emotionally it gets really hard to cope with it. There is also that element of fear , what if it doesnt work. I think you get stuck in this negative mindset once you have been trying fo a while. The worst part is im the only child an dreally wanted a big family.

Man proposes god disposes .what we want and what we get i guess are two different things and i know i should be greatful to Allah for all thatI have.

Do you ladies have any tips? or something i should do to help conceive

Re: is it ever going to happen

mehreen, if you are in the uk then this treatment is covered by the nhs. once you are referred to the fertility clinic by your gp, then the staff at the clinic try their best to assist you in conceiving and its reassuring to know you are in the right hands...I know it is difficult but rather than being scared and thinking 'what if' you should make every effort you can on your part...

otherwise, Pregnacare conception vitamins are good and they also have a Wellman conception for version for men..there are also ovulation tests which can tell you when is the best time to bd..some people have tried acupuncture and chinese herbs too..

Re: is it ever going to happen

i know, this might sound ajeeb sa, but dont try so hard. just forget, u want to get pregnant... and ull see...

my friend had to wait also for nearly 3 yrs. nothing was wrong.... jab unhon ne ye sochna chhor diya, to wo jaldi se pregnant ho gai...

Re: is it ever going to happen

Big hugs to you for what you are going through. I cannot recommend anything as mashallah you are medically fine.
What I wanted to add was fertility treatments such as ivf are not free for all of those in England as its a postcode lottery.

Re: is it ever going to happen

Actually, there is something you could consider? If you can speak to a Chinese herbalist ask about "motherhood formula". It's quite popular and we used it too. X

Re: is it ever going to happen

mehreen - Are your periods regular? You can try the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor. It helps pinpoint the best time to conceive (especially good if you have irregular periods like me)

I totally feel your pain. I'm an only child as well and although we have not been trying for nearly as long as you and your husband have....it's very frustrating. I always wanted a big family too and now I'm not sure if that will ever happen.

All we can do is pray and keep having faith. I'll keep you in my prayers. InshAllah you will be blessed with a healthy baby very soon.

I strongly recommend you see a different fertility specialist and like the others have suggested, look into procedures like IVF.

If you ever need to talk msg me. :)

Re: is it ever going to happen

it will happen inshallah...But stop stressing about it. Its been proven on many occasions that stress affects fertility. When couples cant conceive, women put so much stress on themselves ( which i completely understand), but it affects you. On many occasions, when couples decided to adopt and started the whole application process or stopped trying to get pregnant because they just gave up...they fell pregnant!
Do see another doctor just in case, but if both of you are healthy as you said, it should happen :)
