Yesterday I was giving my FIL an insulin injection, after injecting him I accidentally poke my finger, He is nearly 80 and diabetic patient. Is it something I should worry about? I asked my friend she suggested that I should consult doctor anyway. what do u say?
Re: Is it dangerous?
i don't think it's a big deal but then again i'am not a doctor and know nothing about insulins..
Re: Is it dangerous?
*diabetes is NOT contagious...it's NOT transmitted in that manner. *
Re: Is it dangerous?
has he recently gotten a blood test done?as long as he doesnt have a transmissable disease, its safe.and as long as it wasnt a deep prick, its safe.
Re: Is it dangerous?
and he is 80,am sure he is otherwise healthy to be there at that age:)
Re: Is it dangerous?
nope nothing to worry about ... you wont get diabetes just because you got pricked with the same needle ...

Re: Is it dangerous?
Most probably it is not dangerous, but I remember some girls in my sisters class poked themselves on another class fellows needle. They were asked to go to the ER for some test (for instance hep)
