aqeede ki na-puktugi.. seems that Ghalib didn't believe the concept of paradise

Not any particular book. just from memory… some ashaars were also part of syllabus like this:
Mir ke deen-o-mazhab ka poonchte kya ho un nay to.
kashka khaincha dair mein baitha kab ka tark Islam kiya

*** A tilak on his forehead in a temple he resides, having abandoned Islam long ago

I think sometimes these ashaar's are misunderstood and sometimes the poets who wrote such ashaars came up with totally different thoughts. Like on one side Ghalib seems to have doubts in existence of paradise and on other hand he wrote ashaars like:
Na Tha kucH to Khuda tha, Kuch na hota to Khuda hota
dubooYa mujhKo hoNi ne, na hota maiN to kya hota

Maybe they were written at different phases of life ? Or as you said , they have a meaning which we arent able to comprehend , we just look at its face value.

if you cant understand the shair then its not fault of poet. It is not a kufriya shair....you need to have deep understanding of poetry before commenting like this...

Over all its a master piece. In starting you find it to be blasphemous, but when you reach the ending you find the closeness of the poet with the Creator.
