use my Pakistani passport, if I wanted to travel to pakistan from here? I dont have my Pakistani passport with me, and my dad thinks its better if he dhls it to me, but i wouldnt mind getting a visa stamped here, because i think i might be hassled if i go to pakistan on my paki passport and then theyll be like, wheres your Nihong visa, and ill be like, er its on my other passport and i dont know what theyre like with dual nationalities. whats the best thing to do??
I don't think taking the Pakistani passport is necessary. Just take ur SA passport with both visas, and that should suffice. Less hassle.
So your definitely going to Pakistan, what happened to visiting rest of Asia?
Good Grief. You are never gonna listen to me are you??? Go visit the Pakistani Embassy and find out what they have to say. Sheesh. If you really want to be safe. Get the Pakistani visa and your pakistani Passport (just in case) and show them the SA passport with the Visa and then waltz right in. If not show them you are a dual national and waltz right in.
CM you were supposed to find out for me, and I didnt get a definite answer from you, just lots of roundabout answers!! Well thats a good idea about getting both.
No Sehar, still not sure :(
Typical. You cant do anything for yourself :p I will see what i can do.
No its okay, really I dont have much time left anyway.
Look like i said before. When you go to pakistan get that overseas pakistani nationality card or whatever they call it now. It says you are a pakistani with a different nationality and you can enter and leave the country whenever you wish. It takes your ethnicity into account.
Orite orite!!
But they take two months to issue it. ![]()
I would suggest travel on your SA passport. I went to Pakistan in May on my Canadian passport and noticed that foreign passport holders were definitely treated better than Pakistani passport.... That could've been just the co-incidence on that day... My friend was travelling on Pakistani passport and he was questioned for 20 minutes by 2 different people and it was even more problem for him on the way back...I had no problem at all.
I think we need the "beem me up Scotty" way of travel very soon. This international travel thing, the way its going, is getting too upsetting. U feel like a terrorist if u cross any border these days.
both ways it doesnt make any difference, if you have pak visa on your other passport or you have two passports with you.
its very common and it also save you visa fee and wait at pak high commission.
i went 2 pak in august 2002 and even though i had british passport i was told to geta visa on my paki passport which had expired unfortunately at the wrong time!!!
i had a massive debate but then i remembered that i was in a pakistani embassy so i didn’t bother. wat i don’t understand is why did i need a visa when i was hoping to travel to pak via england on my british passport, dual national or not ![]()
Re: Is it better to get a Pakistani visa or...
Does anyone have a reference to the Pakistani law regarding this issue. The US doesn't have any problem for people carrying 2 passports.
Re: Is it better to get a Pakistani visa or...
^^
Wrong. The USA does not allow dual nationality.
Re: Is it better to get a Pakistani visa or...
Pakistan allows dual-nationality with 16 countries listed on the website of the Pakistani interior ministry:
U.K
France
Italy
Belgium
Iceland
Australia
New Zealand
Canada
Egypt
Jordan
Syria
Switzerland
Netherland
USA(United States of America)
Sweden
Ireland
