No this is approproate, because you are also comparing fight against muslim nations with fight against islam, which are two totally different things. For e.g when Pakistan India war happened, it was not a fight against islam, it was two nations fighting over a piece of land.

You can not support a non muslim over fight with muslims unless muslim has made zulm.This is what i believe. If you think Americans and allies are mazloom , go on support them and if you think that muslims of iraq/afghanistan etc are mazloom then you should do vice versa.

So the point being

Is it allowed to join non muslim-(& muslim) army provided they are not participating in war against muslims , in my opinion it is not allowed and will have severe consequence in akhira.

If an army is not against muslims then it is allowed to serve your country to the best of your efforts.

See i am not taking about fight against islam, it is just fight against muslims.

Muhammad Bin qasims fight was for protection of muslims.
