but lets say, in a work place environment, a senior does not let u finish ur sentences.. makes comments that go like “yadda yadda yadda…” or “bla bla bla…” when ur trying to explain something.. is that some kind of work place abuse? or harrassment..? as i said ive no idea what the correct term is… but its wrong yeah?
this one guy at my work place gets it the most.. he’s got a very strong accent (actually a beautiful palestinian accent) and takes time to get words out… his english is really good, just speaking wise he takes awhile to explain… but my manager treats him like crap.. and when he talks to him.. its like he’s talking to a 4 yr old..
yes.. im sick of this place.. as if people couldnt tell.. but really.. its not good yeah?
Sadzz...a few weeks ago I read about this delta airlines airhostess who got fired from her job after her employers found out that she had written/complained about her job in her online blog journal. Im not sure if this is the same situation, but for starters, I hope you make sure not to write all this while youre at work.
If he does it with everybody it sounds like he is just plain rude. He will ne somebodyto say to him firmly but very politly something along the lines of "I havent finished what i have to say" and tehn to continue. or to tell him that if does not wish to listen I will spend my time more constructively doing something else.
there is no excuse for rudeness, it doesnt matter what grade does it.
and also it shouldnt be put up with.
If people feel they cannot stand up to this manager get together and either put in a complaint.
the other way around it is to turn the situation into a joke.
observe the way he acts, mention it to your co-workers who'll add their bit and eventually he'll it'll get back to him or someone higher than him.
Its an underhand method but seems to work.
anyway , dont let it get to you.......... you'll come across lots of wierd and wonderful people throughout your life and you just have to figure out ways to deal with them.
I reckon its a power thing. If he is like this with other "white "people like you say, he may feel empowered over certain people because he knows he can get away with it.
