Is it a fardh on a man to work to support his family. If he doesn’t is he sinful. Are there any evidences in the Qur’an that clearly state this.
I am not sure if the Quran has anything to say over it but there is a Hadith which says that everyone in this world is a caretaker and each one will be asked about his subjects on the Day of Judgement.
Islam places man as a head and caretaker of the family. He has been entrusted with the duty of caring and fulfilling the needs of his wife and children. The only way in which he could do so is to earn because without it, he wont be able fulfillhis duty. As Quran and Hadith condemns earning through illegal means, work is the only way out. If the man fails to do so, he will surely be asked about his subjects (wife and children) on the Day of Judgement. If a man does not want to work, he should refrain from marriage and spend his time in fasting.
"Only two things are infinite: The universe and human stupidity." I am not quite sure of the universe...

ASk whether the girl you want to marry/or even if you marry your parents choice would like you to work or not.Dont se religion cover to make life easy for your self SELECTIVELY.Thats why muslim are laughed when they fret about borderlines issues while lapsing in the major ones.
A moulana walked into a room full of gair marham women to not let the young widow see the face of her dead husband for the last time b/c islamically he had become NONmaraham for her.Thats called hypocricy isnt it?
"jo kHat main kahte they apni jaan mujhko
aaj kHat likhne main unki jaan jaati hai .....
Yes it is duty of a man to bring the corn and bread for the family with "rizk-e-halal"
and duty of a wife to preach the children their morals and mantain a house,
a quote from The Holy book, i don't remeber the exact words but the gist of the quote is that
One who treats his wife well and feeds her will make his place in heaven.
I think it's from Suraih Al-Imran

Beatle_ki_wapsi, FYI, rabi
To marry is part of our nature. Why should we make haram for ourselves something that the Prophet (saw) himself enjoined. Thats why the christians have priests who molest children. They try to satisfy their natural instinct using the haram method.
Back to the point. I found the evidence.
4:5 To those weak of understanding make not over your property which Allah hath made a means of support for you but feed and clothe them therewith and speak to them words of kindness and justice.
This ayah does not clearly state that working is a fardh.
Although the ayah doesn’t clearly state that I have to work whether or not I have means to support my wife, I do understand that to fulfil the ayah I have to undertake actions which will enable me feed and clothe my wife, which might mean working.
If I have money to support my woman or women

will I still have to work?

Therefore, logically.....
This would imply that maulvis who are married don't molest children.
Or for that matter don't have a negative attitude towards women. etc etc.
I don't think that is borne out by facts.
Can you guys please split this thread up to two different ones.....dicuss the perverse side elsewhere.
Personally I believe that the original question is a valid one......let's deal with it seriously.
Is there a site that can give a hanafi opinion on this issue. Please no DIY Ijtihaad. ( Notice the two aa's)
Praise be to Allah,
scarface brother you asked for hanafi opinion. How about the opinion or a fatwa or a Hadeeth or a Quranic Ayah? All of them strictly according to Quran and Sunnah ?
i hope u understand wat i mean
http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/smile.gif
. this is the way that people called SALAFI’s follow. All the contents 4 MAdhabs that is according to Quran and Sunnah !!
This sure is a serious Question as its a matter of obligatory things. We should ‘never’ give our personal opinoin about halal and haram things or obligatory things lest it might be wrong and we might get punished. This is what our scholar told us that we are representing Allah when we are giving our opinion (Fatwah) in His religion.
