Re: Is it a fair request spouse to lose weight?
Lose weight, no. Get a healthy lifestyle, yes.

Re: Is it a fair request spouse to lose weight?
When my husband first met me I had short hair (to my jaws). Once we were engaged, he very quietly and off-hand asked, "Oh, so you're growing out your hair?" And I replied, "Yes, actually I am".
We've been married almost 10 years now and we often, very quietly and offhand ask eachother or tease eachother with a random question. And usually we comply with the suggestion. A sense of humour goes a long way in making a marriage harmonious.
After having 3 babies, he's never once told me to lose weight or that I hadn't gotten back into shape yet. I however, am actively trying to make him gain weight and quit smoking. For the sake of his health.
you da man TLK!! I wish my hubz would let his hair grow longer than the buzz-cut that he likes, he's got such a thick head of hair. I'd love it if he let it get long enough for me to run my fingers thru it! He also calls bathing suits "costumes" which makes me think of superman lol!! HOW I'd love to see him in a superman-type speedo lol!! FAT chance. He's a good guy tho, if we win lotto, he'll let me go for the tummy tuck which I want lots more than he does. He tells me that he loves my "baby scars" which makes me love him so much more but still doesnt take away my desire to get it done. He'll also sigh and say "sure go for it" when I order Latisse which makes eyelashes grow. But even so, he's happy with me as I am so I'm really lucky and I know it!!! :)
awwwww, this is soooooo sweet MashAllah..
May Allah keep u both happy always!
Re: Is it a fair request spouse to lose weight?
I love to dress up and look attractive for my husband and I never mind when he asks me to do things which is very rare. I actually enjoy it. Its usually me nagging him about certain things like wearing certain shirts, certain hairstyle...poor guy lol
Re: Is it a fair request spouse to lose weight?
Yes, I would just say.. rishta asking for changes isn't a good sign at all - they're no-one to ask for anything, they're not going to buy their favorite show piece..:D
We here are talking about spouse asking you to do things that he loves, which is absolutely fine... except that botox or any kind of cosmo surgeries.. to look good for your spouse is absolutely no issue in my opinion. :)
Re: Is it a fair request spouse to lose weight?
i dont think u shud listen to the rishta ppl, however i think its nice wn ur partner suggest ways u cn change ur appearance, it keeps the spark in the relationship...hwever anything requiring physical pain (apart from exercise) should be done if u really wnt it nt ur spouse as he doesnt hve to go thru the pain!
Re: Is it a fair request spouse to lose weight?
I always tell my wife to lose weight. She'll lose 10 pounds a week later. But then my mom always ends up feeding her so I have to tell her every month.
It gets kind of ridiculous after a while. She'll start doing 500 abs a day if I tell her she's getting a gut. LOL that is power right there.
Re: Is it a fair request spouse to lose weight?
strange! if my wife will be skinny, my request wud be to ask her to put on some weight :) i prefer chubby gals :)
Is a fair request for a spouse / finacee to ask the other one to change / or alter their physical appereance.
Lets say to
To some extent I think it's okay. Why not? But what are some things you would do and the other things are just crossing the line.
i.e I will NOT dye my hair!
I'm all for losing weight and botox injections at a certain age, but hair and dressing is somethign guys don't really know anythign about. Atleast not the straight ones. My fiance has a horrible choice in clothes, so no way in hell can he tell me what to wear.

A little variety is good once in a while. Sometimes my wife will look like a coke bottle and sometimes a coke can LOL. But at the end of the day it's ok with me.
