Internet is bringing people closer. Many many people have found love their lives through the INTERNET.
On the other hand it is breaking many homes too.
I have seen many many threads in this forum where an engaged girl or married woman or a woman in a relationship, somehow, had a chance to go through email box of man in their life and found out that this guy has been flirting around or sending romantic emails to other females.
This might not be an indication of him cheating. He is being “boys will be boys” and getting the satisfaction of having multiple relationships , although virtual.
Now I have some questions . Who will be so stupid to share their password with their wife , fiancée , etc although they know that they are playing around or fooling around in the virtual world. Someone who is so stupid to share their password for their emails in such a situation is either a complete idiot or dumbass and does not have the right to be married or engaged. True or false ?
Should the women who found out about this stupidity of this man should call off the engagement , wedding , break the relationship without or even after confronting him ?
What if the woman confronted that fool and he said I was just playing around and in reality he was playing around . And he is loyal to his fiancée, wife ,or woman in his life. Should this woman still go on with the plans to marry this dumb guy, why not , he is a dumbass and it would be easy to manipulate him ? Most women want a dumbass for a husband , anyway ,these day.
Extra marital relationships have been in existence long before the Internet.
Re: Is INTERNET ruining marriages ?
somehow i would think marriages are strong enough to withstand one partner randomly flirting with someone.
Re: Is INTERNET ruining marriages ?
Internet is ruining marriages etc Because the simple reason is, that its so much easier to jus a click away and flirt with sumone, whilst your other half thinks your jus doing your work on the computer, i mean your at home aint you? surely you cant be doing anything wrong?. I do agree in that sense, it does ruin it. But then again even if there was no internet if sum1 wanted to cheat or flirt they cud easily go n do it, but have a suspicious partnet i guess.

What about internet addiction? Being unable to get off of MSN, chat, yahoo, etc. etc. etc. You don't necessarily have to be flirting or doing anything with anybody else for this kind of addiction.
It's a genuine addiction just like any other disorder.
I saw a documentary on t.v. about a woman who was in love with an avatar on the internet. She preferred living online as opposed to her real life. Her children and husband, who lived with her, were neglected to the point where the husband ltook her kids and eft her ... she remained with her computer companions.

Agree. It could be an addiction to surfing the web.....not necessarily infidelity or flirting behind your partner's back.
I also agree with Mixedbeauty. There are so many advantages to the Internet....it has made life more convenient......and has brought the world to our fingertips. Unfortunately, the Internet has also made it more easy/convenient for people to get involved in activities that are harmful to themselves and others.
^But even if there were no Internet..........it all boils down to the individual's will-power and intentions. If a person is seriously contemplating infidelity and lacks will power............even if he were living in the Stone Age............he'll find a way to cheat. When you've managed to convince yourself of the justification of something.........you'll find a way to do it. The Internet is just one option/resource.

Oh my God, wow! Your right you know, Some people prefer the internet life to get away from reality.

Re: Is INTERNET ruining marriages ?
On the radio the other day, I heard that Facebook is cited on one of every five petitions for divorce.
Quote:
The research comes by way of a British divorce center called Divorce-Online (a convenient concept, no?). According to the Telegraph, the center claims about 20 percent of all divorce documents include some type of reference to Facebook.
The root of the problem should come as no surprise: Too many spouses are using the social network for flirting – or more.
“The most common reason seemed to be people having inappropriate sexual chats with people they were not supposed to,” Mark Keenan, Divorce-Online’s managing director, is quoted as saying.

Interesting, haina? ![]()
But I agree with what is written in the rest of the article … the problem is faithless spouses too stupid to realize they’re leaving an electronic trail. More and more people may be discovering their significant other’s indiscretions via social networks, but there’s no reason to believe that one is causing the other. Cheating is cheating; Facebook is just a medium (albeit one that creates an easily findable path of breadcrumbs).

Re: Is INTERNET ruining marriages ?
well its definately making it easier for ppl to cheat imo. they can set up an affair from the comfort of their own home. but then again if someone is in the frame of mind to cheat on their partner then they would find other methods of doing so even if they didn't have the internet.
Re: Is INTERNET ruining marriages ?
Those creeps would still cheat. You just have a way of more easily catching it.
Re: Is INTERNET ruining marriages ?
Lol yes facebook! Be-aware that 'friends' may 'tag' you. :D That usually causes *alot *of problems

Exactly. People cheated before there was ever internet. So i dont see why facebook or internet should take the blame.
Re: Is INTERNET ruining marriages ?
i dont care if she flirts on internet, as long as she is a virgin.

Thats why you dont go places where you wouldn't want to end up on facebook the next day.
That said, a relative of mine uploaded my wedding pictures that had friends and family in there (way in the background)...who would definitely NOT want their pictures on faceboook without them knowing. So i had em delete those pix. But thats antoher issue i guess.

That's like saying pencils make spelling mistakes. Or donuts are the reason Rosie is so fat. Humans are to blame for their own actions. Nothing else.
