Re: Is Imran Khan’s Popularity Rising?
^^^
His popularity is increasing amongst internet users/Pakistani facebook subscribers.
While it’s difficult to challenge his sincerity.. his vision is far from reality. I have never seen him condemning a single terrorist while 35,000 of our countrymen actually lost their lives in last few years. In fact I heard him addressing a rally in Peshawar that he would himself become a suicide bomber if God forbid something happened to his family. Such glorification of suicide bomber who kill innocent people in our country and have nothing to do with the US drone strikes.. is simply unacceptable to me, at least…

In the same article this is said earlier …
“The war on terror is the most insane and immoral war of all time,” he told Stuart Jeffries in The Guardian. “The Americans are doing what they did in Vietnam, bombing villages. But how can a civilised nation do this? How can you eliminate suspects, their wives, their children, their families? How can you justify this?” Around 35,000 Pakistanis have died, he says, while greedy politicians take advantage of US aid.
I find it almost laughable that you use the 35,000 dead as a number resulting from terrorist activity, however he seems to be making the same case against the US attacks being the cause of the deaths.
I would like to know what proportion of that number is colateral damage from US strikes and what is a direct result of pseudo-Islamic terrorist attacks.
