Am I the only who noticed IK trying to imitate AH? What is with his “mere Pakistanio” thing? Does he considers himself to be the king of Pakistan? B/c only other time I have seen anyone speak like that is when Queen of England addresses the House of Commons. ![]()

ISLAMABAD: The Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan, on Friday urged the Chief Justice of Pakistan to save them from, what he alleged, state terrorism and said peaceful protest was their legal right, which was being denied to them.
Speaking here at the PTI sit-in, Imran announced suspension of talks with the government, telling his supporters that General Musharraf’s dictatorship was better than Nawaz Sharif’s democratic government.
He told the chief justice that it was time to take notice of the injustices being meted out to the oppressed people. “If the judiciary will not give justice, then where should people go for justice,” he contended.
He wondered if it was not contempt of court that despite its orders, the government was creating hurdles in the way of his supporters and already more than 300 of them had been arrested. Imran said he did not need the army, as the army of people was with him.
The PTI chief reacted to the ban on pillion riding in Islamabad, saying it was not because of the threat of terrorism but it was because of the fear of his ongoing campaign. “The sit-in faces no threat of terrorism but only terrorism from Nawaz Sharif,” he alleged.
Imran asked PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi to stop holding further talks with the government over his party’s demands. He reiterated his resolve not to leave his container unless Nawaz stepped down because the prime minister was afraid of his supporters.
If the peaceful protest was impeded, then this would lead to a bloody revolution in Pakistan, he warned, He alleged that in order to hide the electoral rigging, the law of the land was being misused against his supporters and vowed to end the corrupt era. He called ex-chief justice of the apex court Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry the Mir Jafar of democracy.
Imran alleged Nawaz was the product of a military dictator and was defaming the army, as already a global conspiracy was afoot to weaken the army. The PTI chairman said that the divorce with his wife happened for she wanted to live in London, whereas he wished to stay in Pakistan after Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Nawaz Sharif called her a Jew despite the fact she had come to Pakistan after embracing Islam.
He recalled how she had tried to convince him to start living in London, as he could not succeed as a politician in Pakistan, as he was so simple. “And, I had told her that Quaid-i-Azam was also simple,” Imran quipped with a smile on his face.
Imran asked his supporters to come to Islamabad well-prepared in groups of 200-300 persons so that they could face ‘illegal actions’ of the government on their way to the sit-in here. He regretted that one of his supporters had died in jail after hisappendicitis ruptured. He called on the youths to join his sit-in on Saturday, as he was foreseeing a bleak future for them, if they did not rise to change the tyrannical rule.
