When wasn’t Imran blamed for being self destructive and not going anywhere? I remember people were absolutely furious with and wrote him off when he refused to take any role in PCB or becoming Musharraf’s Prime Minister. Same thing happened with his negotiations policies, people thought ‘that’s it, its end of Imran’. The journalists who ran daily media trials of him have now went into hibernation because it’s Ch. Nisar who has taken the charge while army is backing it.
Indeed, Imran’s stormy personality overwhelms the substance of his speech, more often than not. But truth has to be told, one must give him full credit for bringing people from all section of society, ethnicity, sect, region, profession into mainstream politics.
When a leader , any leader , preaches conservative values, associates himself with the Taliban, and supports institution of conservative laws, he better live the lifestyle he is preaching for others. Regardless of how many females have a crush on him. And how many Uncles have a problem with his bedroom misadventures.
my question is still unanswered where are the proof, if he has done tht I will stop supporting him, why don’t ppl understand its character assassination
It would be nice if you do some research before making such asinine statements. Time and time again you have jumped the gun only to make totally misleading, irrelevant statements without having any prior knowledge of the subject you pretend to deal with in such pseudo intellectual manner.
Just to save yourself from future embarrassment, Imran never associated with Taliban, but he persistently argued against the conventional method of fighting them on the strategic and demographic basis. Now the same policies are being perused by the Government and the Armed forces, so you can stop the propaganda right there.
For God sake, reserve all the preaching about leader’s lifestyle when it is confirmed that “blind item” is indeed a fact, and that pregnant 21 year old relative of Pakistan’s richest man actually exists.
I don’t understand why posters like you are treating a blind item, yes a blind item followed by gossip column with so much seriousness. Imagine if this blind wasn’t everyone’s favourite Imran Khan? I’m sure likes of you would be hushing people up left, right and centre saying ‘we mustn’t judge on the basis of an isolated rumour’, right?
Well, you do have to give Southie that point. This is one reason that I won’t go and vehemently get lathar to get to his rally or financially support Imran. There are tinges of Jamat in PTI and I wouldn’t mind it (naimatullah did some good work in karachi) except for the whole taliban angle.
Not to derail too much from imran’s alleged future dukhtar or nawab , but I can’t seriously take a man who thinks that military trained insurgents can be taken by the tribals when the said tribals (especially their leaders) have been staunchly defeated by the incoming hordes post-2001 to set up bases in FATA.
Now, I am against permanent military occupation but the military will have to deliver a knockout punch before police and civil society take over in FATA. Coming to that, imran talks about military (and FC since FC is part of military right now?) leaving FATA but there is no talk of who would fill the void. Again, the tribals have failed to check the taliban hordes in the first place as it is so that is not an option.
Sorry, had to vent that out again. IK really rubs me the wrong way on this issue.
Tribal leaders sheltering militants and harbouring great sympathy and support for those militants was a serious problem for Pakistan 5-6 yeas ago, and it still is to certain extent. Imran was not entirely wrong in his view that Pakistan military should pacify those tribal leaders, gain their trust and form a better network of intelligence sharing and cop-operation so they can stop shielding the militants which in return would’ve weakened and isolated the militants from innocent civilians. As a pacifist, I strongly that violence generates more violence, regardless of the fact who was more capable of winning the battle at the end, a full fledged war against those revenge obsessed tribes was never in Pakistan’s interest. In long run, Pakistan needs a pacified and friendly FATA as a buffer against increasingly hostile Afghanistan. Pakistan desperately need to have those tribal leaders on its side. Musharraf truly lost the plot or he never had one to begin with, but Gen. Kiyani and Gen. Shareef policies effectively highlight the efforts Pakistan’s making to win back FATA. The weekly targetted strikes are still going on, but thank God million times that Pakistani cities are not hit by multiple revenge attacks per day.
Carpet bombing and ethnic cleansing of the entire region is not the answer, for long term peace and security, its the tribal leaders who must change their attitude, realise the bigger picture and root out the evil from within.
Imran pioneered the tradition of openly debating FATA, exposed the complexities, he single-handedly made the issue of safeguarding this remote region a burning mainstream topics in politics. It’s a shame that no one could manage to do the same for Balochistan, not even himself. But Balochistan is definitely next. They need to have open debates on the subject. It’s okay if some are more controversial than others, all voices and all solutions must be heard.
As pacifists several were correctly against Afghanistan war Iraq war and drone strikes. But Mr. Khan appears to have a soft spot for the Taliban. He has issued statement of support for the Afghanistan Taliban, refused to criticize the animals who gunned down Malala, and conducts his personal affairs at odds with his public posturing on conservative values.
While IK fans can see notn wrong, that’s what makes them IK fans. And that’s ok. But calling hypocrisy when one sees it is ok too. However much it irks rabid fans.
You are hurting your own credibility as a poster and a paladin of righteousness by acting more and more convinced that the blind item, a wild twitter rumour, is in fact a verified evidence of his affair. You can do better than that. You don’t like Imran for whatever reason, that’s okay, but please don’t bother legitimising malicious defamation for sake of it, because I know for certain if we change the name, you’ll be the first one to immediately backtrack and denounce the very practice of believing in salacious rumours about someone’s personal life. But you seem more offended by the fact Imran leans on the conservative side than the smearing political campaign against him at the expense hurting the good name of an unknown 21 year relative of Pakistan richest man (assuming the character isn’t a figment of someone’s imagination)
The Afghan Jihad is a very politicised subject. Whether anyone likes it or not, the very basic idea of defending your country against invaders is one of the many conditions of Holy War. It’s none other USA, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan who created this Jihad and Mujahadeen, not the man you blame for having a soft corner for Taliban. Imran has pointlessly wasted his time distinguishing between Afghan Taliban and Pakistan Taliban, he gained nothing out of it and caused some irreversible damage to his party. There I said it, and so here’s one less thing for you worry about this particular Imran fan.
Southie is not an intelligent person Jolie. Quite the opposite. If I use the antonym of intelligent to describe him, he will cry and call me a bully.
Dont waste your time and effort on responding to his laughable posts, with sound arguments.
Anything he finds on twitter, or in the tabloids, he treats like sacred hindu text.
Also, despite professing his love for Islam and Pakistanis, I am yet to see a thread against Pakistanis or Islam where Southie has not fanned the flames.
Southie’s persistently biased arguments, and an ongoing ridiculous comments, have seen him lose (take good note of how I used the word here Knight) respect amongst several members.
Sunday 14 October 2012, the date when the news item was published.
as of the bolded part, your proof to this statement?? either pics of you hidden under Imran’s bed or your proof?
Instead of worrying about imran’s character and this latest gossip article whose provided link is not even working and the leading lady is just as imaginary as Knight30’s love, go worry about skeletons hidden in india’s closet
