Is Imam Mahdi Alive ?

Can someone explain me this please ?

Re: Is Imam Mahdi Alive ?

Why do you want to know. How would a yes or no answer affect you?

Re: Is Imam Mahdi Alive ?

I want to know what logic people give behind it ? I want to know the right thing ...

Re: Is Imam Mahdi Alive ?

is unknown whether he is alive or not

are you female? if you are the whole situation may not effect you too much other then concern for your safety, but better check with an Alim on that.
the situation conerns with rising up against oppression and it will be a time when muslims will be under immense attack

Re: Is Imam Mahdi Alive ?

What I want to know is if he is still to be born or he is alive & will return form occultation ?

I know people are hesitating to post because of shia sunni argument but how someone can come to a conclusion without discussion .....
I want to know what logics do people give behind both concepts ...

Re: Is Imam Mahdi Alive ?

unknownnn,
Imam mahdi will not be playing a game of hide and seek. The condition of world and signs for when he will come have been foretold in ahadiths.
I would suggest that you do some research and learn more about the subject than just asking on a forum.
As far as my personal opinion on the subject, I believe Imam Mahdi already came a hundred years ago.

Re: Is Imam Mahdi Alive ?

To sum up,

In the Light of authentic hadith Imam Mahdi (ra) is not born yet, he will come when the world will reach a very precise state
and only after the hapenning of some precise signs;

here is a Speech, about the arrival of Imam mahdi in the Light hadith,
watch it fully, and inchallah you will have your answers

Re: Is Imam Mahdi Alive ?

we believe the dajjal is in occultation and the Mahdi RA will be born as a follower of RasoolAllah SAW, and will be a descendent of RasoolAllah SAW

the Islamic (sunni) route to knowledge is Quran and Sunnah. i dont think the Mahdi is mentioned in Quran but whatever the Prophet SAW said will happen, as Prophet SAW said it would

the shia mahdis are many, all of whom died or were not born (according to us sunnis). basically dependent upon the group of shia they say about whom they please that person cannot die and will come BACK to the world to fill it with justice. the biggest group amongst the shia today, the 12ers, say their last imam hid as a young boy then went into a longer occultation.

as sunnis (believers of present Quran) we classify shia routes to religious doctrine as heresay, if you need me to go into more detail, just ask. but its true i do try to avoid the subject as much as possible but its important that we do not mix the two separate religions.

so whatever the Prophet SAW said is our belief

Re: Is Imam Mahdi Alive ?

Shia belief is that Imam Mahdi is the son of Imam Hasan Askari (died 260 AH or 846 AD). I do not know if its official Sufi position but naqshabandi Sufi sheikh Nizam reiterates the same position here which is rather interesting,

Re: Is Imam Mahdi Alive ?

Answer:
`Alaykum as-Salam,

May Allah bless you always. Two Youtube recordings have been posted on this issue:
(i) Shaykh Nazim: Imam al-Mahdi is the son of Imam Hasan al-Askari-March 6th, 2011 - YouTube
(ii) Shaykh Nazim: Imam al-Mahdi is the son of Imam Hasan al-Askari-March 6th, 2011 - YouTube

In the first recording Mawlana Shaykh Nazim identifies the “holders of black flags” in the famous Mahdi-supporters’ hadith as both Sunni and Shii. He says: [Questioner:] “Who are they?” [Mawlana:] “Ahl as-Sunnah countries, comprising Asia; and not just [the Sunni world]: non-Arabs (he means Shiis) are [also] waiting, but their belief is different from ours: they say that he is the son of Askari.” So he does not say that the latter are from Ahl as-Sunnah wal-Jamaa- contrary to the subtitles given – but quite the contrary: “their belief is different from ours”, i.e. their Shi`i beliefs are different from our Sunni beliefs.

Those who believe that the Mahdi is the son of al-Askari are not from Ahl as-Sunna wal-Jamaa. Rather, this is what the questioner puts into Mawlana’s mouth in the second video but Mawlana does not confirm it other than saying: “Of course, it must be: all of us are askar al-Mahdi,” i.e. soldiers of al-Mahdi. Then the questioner comes back again and insists: “Is it OK to say he is the son of Hasan al-Askari?” and by that time Mawlana is fed up with him and is waving “enough, next” with his hand.

In neither recording does Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) “state that the Mahdi is the son of al-Imam al-Hasan al-Askari.” As Mawlana indicated, Ahl as-Sunnah wal-Jamaa do not hold such a belief but rather: (i) as the Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) said, “His name will match my name and his father’s name will match my father’s name” (Sunan Abi Dawud), i.e. “Muhammad ibn Abdullah,” not “Muhammad ibn al-Hasan”; and
(ii) he will be a descendant of Sayyidina al-Hasan as stated verbatim by Sayyidina Ali (Sunan Abi Dawud), not of Sayyidina al-Husayn like al-Askari (Allah be well-pleased with all of them).
As for Mawlana’s saying “it is OK” when the brother insisted asking about the belief of the Shiis in the second recording, it means “it is OK for you” because that is what the brother is itching to follow and Mawlana knows he will not change his belief. **That brother’s Youtube descriptions show he was misled byShii publications claiming that this is what Naqshbandi masters believed whereas our Golden Chain masters did not hold such beliefs.**
And Allah knows best.

May Allah Most High grant us adab with his Awliya, right belief, and
beneficial knowledge.

Re: Is Imam Mahdi Alive ?

What if shia people are right ? what if imam mahdi is alive & in occultation like hazrat Isa A.S ?

Re: Is Imam Mahdi Alive ?

well the question does not actually make sense but if i was to answer it anyway i would say it means there is no hell

Re: Is Imam Mahdi Alive ?

If he's alive I wonder what he's been doing watching all the filth, kufr and oppression in the world. If he's not coming to save humanity there's no point in keeping him alive. Such an imam is dead or alive, it doesn't make any difference.

Re: Is Imam Mahdi Alive ?

There is another position and that is he (RA) could be born and alive and neither he nor anyone else really know that it is him who is the Mahdi ... Not until the signs manifest upon him and he probably will not recognise those signs and hence resist bayah ... As our signs of Al- Mahdi show us.

Re: Is Imam Mahdi Alive ?

assalamunalaika
well, imam mahdi r.a will be recognized only when he is atleast 40 years old. he will be inspired by Allah in 1 night. and he will become the ruler of arabs. as we can see that muslims are already been attacked, muslims are already in danger so we can not deny that imam mahdi r.a is alive or not. but we need to be prepared so that if imam mahdi's army emerges, we must join him.

Re: Is Imam Mahdi Alive ?

So wais88, what do you suggest? Should muslims start reading the manual for AK47?

Re: Is Imam Mahdi Alive ?

Not at all because we are not so weak nor terrorists. We will do as imam mahdi says, nd if he chooses ak47 then yes we will have to read its manual.
Following imam mahdi and joining him in the last war is stated by our beloved s.a.w in authentic hadees so better think before you try to make fun of this posts.

Re: Is Imam Mahdi Alive ?

Instead of worrying about it, we should worry about our own acts.
