True KKF. Some are ignorent and some just lie on face of millions or perhaps billion. And yes you are right, people like RFK and Tendulkar should be punished severely so other people dont try to follow the icons unless off course they have millions to hire tax attroneys who can do "lafzoon ka hair phair".
I am amazed that tribunal in India accepted Tendulkar's declaration that he is a "non professional cricketer" and "an actor". That got to be funniest joke eh? bigger than RFK's ignorance. :D
PS: Of course you will have explanation for this readily available eh? If tendulkar is a non-professional cricketer (in fact an actor), I am sure RFK can be anything including ignorant. :)

BTW He will report all his salary. all the cricketers do since there is no black money in cricket. all the money they get is from legal channels like BCCI or the multi national companies ( well match fixing income excluded).
But how they file their income is a different story. as long as their way is a legal way they have a big argument in their favor.
Personally i believe sachin should pay all his taxes with spirit ( he made 15 million a day this year) and become a role model. Dhoni is the highest income tax payer in the country and he is not even as rich as sachin.
Even though sachin is not doing anything illegal but it gives bad impression to the people who idolize him.

All politicians, actors, models, players everyone does it in legal way. There are tonz of politicians in Pakistan (and I am sure in India too) whose tax returns does not match their living style. For instance I have seen this minister always using at least 30 Million Rs car (not officials but his private car) but as per his income tax returns he only own half million Rs although his munshi (accountant) owns land worth around 200 Million. Can someone believe this? NO but is the tax return legal? YES. Tax returns of such personalities beats any comedy books hands down but hey all those returns are legal. Absolutely nothing illegal.
Tendulkar's case is nothing different than this.
Only problem with poors is that they cant be creative in their cheating, they cant hire and pay accountant/tax attorneys like the one Tendulkar have, hence they get caught.

I disagree. Tendulkar's case is totally different. Politicians and film stars of our sub continent evade taxes to hide their black money (BTW our ministers are more corrupt than yours). tendulkar is doing what corporate sector does, i.e. finding every possible way to get a waiver on its legal income.
I personally do same thing, i try to find every possible way to get waiver during my tax filing. but then i dont have any black money and i only drive a nissan .

"Tendulkar is an actor and not professional cricketer"
pretty much sums up my argument. Some people call it cheating/lie, some call it "maximizing tax return". there is nothing wrong in trying to get as much deduction as possible without lying.

But i must point out that he only claimed "actor" deduction on the money he made from commercials, not from cricket.
His cricket income is filed separately as a sportsman.
Though its another fact that he got those commercials because he is a cricketer.
